Description

The monastery was founded by Cardinal Pedro Fernández de Frías. In 1402 it became part of the Hieronymite Order. Due to the confiscation of church property, from 1835 onwards it suffered a period of deterioration and plundering that culminated in 1936 with the collapse of the church (Torrijos Medina 2017, p.4).
