Observations

The painting retains its original format. It depicts the Virgin holding the Child on her lap, seated on a bench in a garden. Behind her, arcaded buildings separate a courtyard from the mountainous landscape in the background. The style has occasionally been linked to Dürer. It is currently attributed to a Brussels painter, possibly from the circle of Bernard van Orley.
