Mark on the back of the altarpiece that could identify the merchant or promoter (Barrio Olano and Berasain Salvarredi 2018, p. 31).
Observations
The work had been dated around 1440, but during the 2016-2017 restoration, a dendrochronological study showed that it is posterior to 1455 (Barrio Olano and Berasain Salvarredi 2018, p. 31).
J.J. Clopés theorized that the Virgin could be an original piece, although this can't be verified at the time. Three of the sculptures belonging to the original altarpiece are known with certainty: Saint Peter (73.5 x 24.5 x 18.5 cm), Saint Paul (72.5 x 26 x 18.5 cm), and Saint Anthony (71.3 x 26 x 20 cm) (Barrio Olano and Berasain Salvarredi 2018, p. 31).
